DSC (Scanning Differential Calorimeter)
There is a DSC nano scanning differential calorimeter from TA Instruments specially designed for the study of conformational transitions of dissolving biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids, etc.) induced by temperature increase. The calorimetric cell has a volume of 0.3 mL. The equipment can be used both manually (sample loading and cleaning) and using a robotic system when the analysis of a large number of samples is required. Samples in solution (aqueous or not) can be subjected to temperature ramps of up to 2 ° C per minute in the range 2 – 130 ° C subjected to an external pressure of up to 6 atm.
This equipment has been acquired thanks to an intervention co-funded by the European Union through the Programa Operativo del Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) from the Comunitat Valenciana 2014-2020 (PROJECT: IDIFEDER2018/020).
