Sistema multicanal CMOS-MEA500

The CMOS-MEA5000 Multichannel System is a key component in the IDiBE’s high throughput screening platform and brings an improvement to its electrophysiological facilities in terms of sensitivity, resolution and sampling ability. The equipment is a registry and stimulation system that performs high resolution (>2k electrodes/mm2) and high sampling frequency (25kHz) measurements of extracellular electrical activity for in vitro applications.
CMOS-MEA5000 operation is based in a two-dimensional array of CMOS semiconductors. It has more than 4000 electrodes as fundamental registry element and 1000 interleaved stimulation electrodes. This array is hold in chips which are coupled to culture chambers with multiple designs in order to fit different kind of samples, mainly tissue sections or cellular culture.

With the aim of providing the system with higher flexibility, the platform is equipped with the following extra devices:

  • TC02 temperature control system (Multichannel systems) with two channels for temperature ranges among 10 °C and 40 °C (±0.1 °C).
  • VCS-8-PTFE perfusion system (Multichannel systems) with automatic control and multiple choices for complex protocol design with up to 8 different solutions.
  • PPS2 peristaltic pump system (Multichannel systems) which allows to adjust the flow in a 0-30 ml/min range with a 0.1ml/min resolution.

El equipo ha sido adquirido gracias a una Actuación cofinanciada por la Unión Europea a través del Programa Operativo del Fondo Europeo de Desarrollo Regional (FEDER) de la Comunitat Valenciana 2014-2020 (PROYECTO: IDIFEDER2020/022).
